Latest News League & Cup double still on - don't let it slip now! We must win all our remaining fixtures lads... don't get sloppy and be clinical!      Rovers continue winning ways are determined display at Chatteris despite a sloppy start!      Rovers make the KO Cup FInal - seeing off two C league promotion hopefuls and D league team en route - congratulations to ALL of you!
ABOUT THE TEAM

08-09 SEASON:

After a shaky start, the lads got into the swing a produced the displays we knew they were capable of. A close, but well fought victory over D League leaders at the time, Fordham, was the start of a fantastic run. Only defeat against Buckden Juniors and in the Suffolk Cup blighted their path to a League Title and the Knock Out Cup Semi Final.

The lads should have won the KO Cup too, were it not for a mix up with the League and Manager over the three new signings. The game which we won against the C League Champions - Alconbury had to be replayed and we lost 2-0. The game was close, 1-0 till the last kick off the game and we had two goals dissallowed!!

The target this year is to get the chance to go it again!

HISTORY:

The 'B' team was founded in the 2006/2007 season after the success of the A Team and the abundance of kids from this age group. At the time there was no under 13 team and so a lot of the lads were playing above their age. This is still the case for some today, although we have now formed another age group.

In their first season the boy were unlucky not to be promoted after finishing third in the E division. However, over the close season, many players left to form the under 13's and some went to the A team or further afield. This left the team on the brink of folding.

Fortunately this never happened and, with an almost completely new team, the lads are still enjoying themselves and improving with every game!

This season they have recruited some exciting new faces and with all the hard work during the close season, we are looking for a much improved performance this time around...

SPONSORS:

The team have been very fortunate in securing sponsorship from two major companies. Our home kit and training wear sponsors are 1st Stop Recruitment of Haverhill. They are a specialist recruitment agency headed by Lesley Whiting. The whole team would like to thank 1st Stop for their generosity this season.

Our away kit sponsors are national commercial law firm Nabarro. Manager, Brad Rice, was able to secure sponsorship from the firm as he will be commencing employment with them in 2009/2010. The team, and Brad especially, are extremely grateful to Nabarro for their support in a situation that is usually out of their remit.
